CP378  Instrument User Group Monitoring

THE NEED

Reliable, robust and cost effective instrumentation is a critical element of water companies operations and the industry is expected to spend over £100 million on instrumentation over the next AMP. In a rapidly changing technology area, where expertise is spread across the UK water companies, there is a need to share knowledge and experience to inform testing and procurement and to aid adoption of best practice operations.

BUSINESS BENEFITS

The IUG is the recognised group within the water industry for expertise on instrumentation and allows its members to:

  • select appropriate instrumentation and adopt best practice in its installation, operation and maintenance
  • collaborate and share costs for piloting and evaluating instrumentation technology to deliver testing which meets the industry’s needs.
  • resolve issues with and provide technical direction to the supply chain

Members see a return on their financial investment and time through improved decision making and adoption of best practice.
