This major 3 year European project will develop best practice and decision support tools for leakage reduction and control in water supply systems. The €1.9 million research programme called TILDE is being funded by the European innovation and Small Medium Enterprise (SME) programme. The project brings together a partnership of 9 organisations that are experts, technologists and end users from 6 countries including Norway, the UK, Italy, Greece and Cyprus. The TILDE Decision Support Tool (DST) application will be demonstrated in 4 pilot areas including Norway, Italy and Cyprus and a web portal will be produced for accessing information generated by the work. Benefits - The Innovative tool developed will reduce leakage levels from water supply pipework and will guide network operators through the selection of processes and technologies for reducing leakage.
- A standardised approach will enable leakage / water quality to be maintained at an appropriate level in each region based on socio-economic / cost benefit analysis.
